If you are making a pie, crisp, sauce or pretty much any baking recipe that calls for apples you will need to peel and core them.
This method is my favourite – it’s quick to peel and super easy to core.
There are lots of step-by-step photos, but if you need extra instruction, I have made a video for you too.

Instructions
Step 1
At the top and bottom of your apple peel away a circle
Step 2
Once the top and bottom are peeled, peel strips down the body of the apple
Step 3
Work your way around the apple until all the peel is removed
Step 4
Position the apple bottom side down and cut the apple top to bottom as close to the core and stem as possible
Step 5
You will end up with 4 pieces and a square core
Step 6
Slice the apple as needed for your recipe
