  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 3 cups rolled old fashioned oats
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Mix the flour, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon together and set aside

Step 2

With a hand or stand mixer cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy

Step 3

Add in the eggs one at a time mixing well between each addition to ensure they are well combined

Step 4

Add in your flour mixture until just combined

Step 5

Mix in the oats and raisins – the mixture will be quite sticky, but keep the speed on low when combining so you don’t mash the raisins

Step 6

Put the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes to firm up

Step 7

Preheat the oven to 350 F

Step 8

Roll the chilled dough into 1 1/2 inch balls by hand or with a cookie scoop and place on a parchment-lined baking tray

Step 9

Gently flatten each ball with your hand and bake for 12 minutes or until the edges start to brown

Step 10
Cool for 10 minutes on the baking tray and then finish cooling on a wire rack
