Ingredients

  • 1 large sweet onion finely diced
  • 1 clove of garlic finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian herbs
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • Fresh ground salt and pepper

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

In a large frying pan melt the butter and add the olive oil

Cook the onion and garlic until soft and golden and then allow to cool

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F

Step 3

Place all the ingredients in a large bowl along with the cooled onion and garlic mix

Step 4

Blend the mixture together

Step 5

Once the mixture is evenly blended, roll into even sized balls about 1 1/4 inches in diameter and place on baking trays

Step 6

Cook for 30 – 35 minutes until cooked through

Freezing Tips

Cool on the trays

Once cooled remove from the trays and place in a single layer in a large freezer bags

Freeze flat and then once frozen, you can gather up into a single bag to store in the freezer to use as needed
