Ingredients

  • 1 cup bread flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 scant cup lukewarm water

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Mix both types of flour and your salt together in a large bowl

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine the yeast, water, and oil together

Step 3

Pour the yeast mixture into the flour

Step 4

Knead with your hands until it is well combined

Step 5

Let it rest for 15 minutes

Step 6

Knead the rested dough for another 3 minutes

Step 7

Cut into 2 pieces and form each piece into a ball

Step 8

Place the balls on a floured tray and cover with a damp cloth and allow to rise at room temperature for 4 hours or in the fridge for 8 – 24 hours

Step 9

Remove the dough from the tray and place it on a lightly oiled surface – if you are using the dough from the fridge, allow it to come to room temperature for 45 minutes

Step 9

Shape as needed

Freezing Tips

You can freeze the dough once you have completed step 8 and the dough has finished rising

Lightly coat in oil and place into freezer bags

You can store it in the freezer for 1 month

Allow it to thaw overnight in the fridge and then allow it to come to room temperature for an hour before shaping
