The fresh flavour of your own homegrown cucumber is hard to beat.
I like to start the seeds inside about 3 weeks before planting outside to get a head start on the growing season.
You can allow to vines to trail along the ground, but I like to grow them up a support for easy access and to keep the cucumbers off the ground.
Plant stress can cause bitter cucumbers, so keep your watering even and consistent, mulch your plants and make sure you have good quality soil with enough nitrogen.
