There are so many options when it comes to Dahlias. They range in size and colour and are grown from tubers, which require well-drained soil and plenty of sunlight.
They like warm weather and will not tolerate frost, so the tubers need to be lifted in the fall if you live in a zone below 8.
You can plant dahlia tubers outside after the last frost and when the soil has warmed and should begin flowering by midsummer.
