How to Make Breadcrumbs

Breadcrumbs are used in many recipes and I find it really useful to have a bag in the freezer.
They are really easy to make and I will buy a loaf of bread just for breadcrumbs so I can make a big batch.

Equipment

  • 1 Food Processor or Blender
  • 1 Bread knife

Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf bread

Instructions
 

  • Cut your bread into 2 inch squares
  • Drop a handful of the bread cubes into a blender or food processor
  • Pulse the blender/food processor until you have a fine crumb 
  • Empty into a large bowl
  • Repeat until you have used up all of your bread cubes
  • To freeze, place in a freezer bag and put into the freezer

Notes

Tips
  • Don't place anything on top of them in the freezer
  • When using them for the first time from the freezer, squeeze the bag a couple of times to loosen them up, and then take what you need
  • To defrost spread what you need out on a plate at room temperature for 30 minutes
